Even in lockdown there is caramelized Kaiserschmarn for ToGo.
Very nice hut in a fantastic location. Ideal for a toboggan trip. Also super delicious Kaiserschmarren! The hut keepers are super nice and without them I would probably never have got my wallet, which I lost on the toboggan run. At this point, another thousand thanks! I can only recommend it as a destination, even in the difficult times at the moment.
Kaiserschmarrn wasn't bad, but it wasn't overwhelming either
always a wonderful destination, fantastic panorama, very nice hosts, excellent cuisine, the Kaiserschmarrn "to go" tastes excellent !!
Nice hiking destination with a pleasant atmosphere, nice hut landlord, good service and very tasty food. Always recommended - nice view
A very nice and cozy hut with good food. Nevertheless, we felt a bit ripped off, since 10 euros corona flat rate per person is quite a lot and you have to have a 3-course meal. I would have liked to have had a different soup, unfortunately that was not possible.
They have a really good corona hygiene concept and the best cheese dumplings ever. Add to that the unique location, simply wonderful.
Can't understand how someone describes these nice hosts as unfriendly, they are totally personable ... just a bit chaotic the Corona organization, but that was also due to us guests. Food was great, as always!
Nice wooded ascent from Huben. Without frills it goes steeply uphill. What bothers the hut: 1. In the evening after 4 p.m. there is only one menu for over € 32, the soup, main course and dessert are only worth € 24. 2. A hygiene fee of € 10 per nose. The overnight stay through the back door then costs all in all 70 € plus drinks. I don't think that's the best way to hide the costs.
Food delicious, location good. It takes getting used to, however, the rest of the hut at 10 am and breakfast only at 8. If you want to mountaineering you should get something earlier. In terms of price also at the limit, 32 euros for breakfast and dinner are too much. 10 euros hygiene surcharge and three drinks in the evening and as a DAV member you are already going on 70 euros per night - more of a hotel price.
So that is really the lowest level, no longer accommodating hikers from Tyrol. I will not recommend your hut any more.
According to a public notice, Tyroleans are not welcome at this hut. As a Bavarian, I will therefore consistently avoid them in the future. Something like that doesn't work at all among good neighbors in an allegedly united Europe.
Good location Eating works like that! The boss is absolutely rude! The price doesn't work at all ... We paid over 75 euros per person for a 5-man bed camp. Never ever again. There are better huts in the area.
Nobody can do anything for Corona, but the way you deal with guests when you stop for a break can .......! The landlady, or rather the absolutely unfriendly person at the front desk, doesn’t care about the fact that guests feel comfortable. As a guest you have the feeling that you are disturbing. The food was not bad, but it would be nice if you ordered a salad with your meal and paid for it, if it wasn't delivered to the table after several requests (half an hour later). The season will soon be over, maybe the operators will think about it and give this wonderfully located hut to someone who, on the one hand, likes to do the work and is not as effusively unfriendly as the current tenants.
I always like to come back because of the world-class Kaiserschmarrn! Definitely worth a visit. The location and the view from the terrace are also great.
There were two. Both arrived happy and hungry at the Priener Hütte ... we ate the best lentil soup and Kaiserschmarrn ever. Many thanks for the good hospitality ... and the neighbor who offered us his help ...
The hut is in a good location with a fantastic view, and the food was good. But what use is the most beautiful hut if the landlords are unfriendly. You feel unwelcome, the landlord is hectic, overwhelmed ... forever pointing out the rules, he wipes tables with dirty water - I wouldn't even clean my car with it. It can be done better, something that has never been experienced in a hut.
The Priener Hütte is a hut on the way to the Geigelstein summit. A gravel road leads up to here, on which MTB can also ride. There are several paths for pedestrians, you don't necessarily have to walk on the gravel road. One possibility to start is the large parking lot for hikers at Sachrang. The hut is open all year round, even in winter the path is mostly cleared. There are warm meals and drinks, an overnight stay is possible. From here you can continue to the Geigelstein summit (approx. 45min-60min walk), but from here no more paved road. MTB is also over at the hut. Love to come here, the view from the summit is beautiful.
It is a beautifully located hut with a great view of Austria. The press dumpling soup and the Kaiserschmarren pancakes were also good and can be recommended without hesitation. Then friendly hosts and a sunny day - what more could you want. If you still have to go to the summit, you should not underestimate the time and the way there.

If there is not much going on, the hut is highly recommended. Unfortunately, at the weekend and with nice weather, the mass tourism arrived here too. On such days, however, you can also sit down wonderfully near the hut and enjoy your own snack - certainly better and, of course, much cheaper. The hut used to be open 365 days a year. The new tenant is now also taking a break. So inform in advance!
What a lifetime experience this place was. The food, the hosts and the accommodation will leave you breathless and the view from the hut is awe inspiring. The sled ride back down to the parking was both terrifying and a total adrenaline overload. Thank you for the memory.
